This past Saturday, I woke up with a smile knowing that I would get to spend my day with Brion and Erin and their friends and families! You know you have the best job in the world when you know you’ll be on your feet running around for 10+ hours photographing a wedding day and you can’t get to the venue fast enough!

When I first chatted with Brion that day, he was getting ready and I could just tell he was super excited to marry Erin. He passed out his Star Wars cufflinks to his groomsmen with the biggest grin on his face (because ya know, it was Star Wars Day, too) and they joked around all morning.

At the church, Erin’s mom buttoned her stunning wedding dress on and helped put on her gorgeous cathedral length wedding veil. Erin was smiling from ear to ear all morning long!

Their first look was one I’ll remember for a very long time. Erin turned the corner of the church and slowly walked towards Brion. She gently tapped his shoulder and he swiveled around. Brion looked Erin up and down and couldn’t stop telling her how beautiful she looked and even teared up a little bit. OMGOSH, my heart melted.

After their ceremony, the wedding party and I ventured l towards Sioux City’s Anderson Dance Pavillion. Luckily we got there when we did, because we learned that morning that we might have to fight the crowds, because there were quite a few Sioux City proms that day.

One of my favorite parts of a wedding day is getting to take portraits of the bride and groom.  Brion, Erin, and I found one of the most beautiful locations on the way to their reception venue. It was as simple as a few trees, green grass, and the sun shining down on us, which are my three favorite things for portrait sessions! Bridal portraits are my favorites, because I get to see my bride and groom interact by themselves, they get a “quiet” moment on their wedding day, and we get an opportunity to take beautiful photos they will hang on their walls and share with family for years to come!

Brion and Erin, I wish you nothing but the best!! Thank you so much for inviting Taylor Maurer Photography to join you on your big day! It was the best day!
