Last weekend, I had the privilege to hang out with Bobby and Jess and take their engagement photos. Leading up to the session, we were both kind of nervous that we’d be shooting in 80º weather, but we lucked out at the temperature went down just in time and we even got a slight breeze!

When I met Bobby and Jess in Stone State Park, I was also greeted by Jess’ parents, Bobby’s cousin Brady, and their dog Cody! We chatted about their wedding planning, Bobby and Jess smiled until their cheeks hurt, and we hiked probably the tallest hill Northwest Iowa has to offer (probably not, I’m just being dramatic). By the time the session was over, Brady and I came to an agreement that when he gets a little bit older, I’d hire him to be my photography assistant, as long as he can keep his room clean!

Selecting Stone State Park was an easy decision for Bobby and Jess. Last September, Jess thought they were just going on your normal hike with their dog at Stone State Park, but Bobby had a different idea. He got down on one knee and proposed to Jess!
