I met Michaela and Zach a few months ago when I ventured to their home outside of Walthill. While planning the engagement session with Michaela, we were really hoping for sunset photos, but the clouds weren’t on our side and the evening skies were overcast.

As Michaela and Zach’s wedding day came closer, we began going over the final details of their wedding day. Michaela told me she and Zach were hoping for snow on their wedding day!! I’m usually wishing for warm sunny weather, but just this once I was crossing my fingers for snow.

Saturday, February 16, 2019 was a wonderful mix of a sunny morning and a snowy evening! It really doesn’t get much better than that!

I began my day early at the Delta Hotel in South Sioux City, Nebraska. I knocked on the door and found excited bridesmaids gathered around a table. Michaela was in the other room getting her hair and makeup done. Michaela said she was really excited to get married!

The “first look” was held outside by the river. This really calmed some of their nerves and cooled us down a lot – hello 13º weather!

Their wedding ceremony was held at the Community of Christ Church in Sioux City. By the time Michaela’s dad walked her down the aisle, every church pew was filled with Zach and Michaela’s friends and family! I’ve never seen that many people at a wedding ceremony before! You could really feel the love in the room – and not just between Zach and Michaela.

Once at the reception, guests gathered ’round the popcorn bar, took photos at the photo station, and mingled with friends and family. If you spotted me near the dance floor during their first dance, you would’ve seen me singing all of the words behind my camera… I’m just a sucker for a good old country song!

Thanks again, Mr. and Mrs. Morgan, for letting me capturing every moment of your big day! I had an absolute blast from beginning to end! You two are seriously the best! I hope you’re having the greatest time on your honeymoon!
